At 2:00 a.m., I awoke to very heavy rain pounding my tent. It poured all night long! Bear and I had planned to climb Mt. Moosilauke which is an elevation of 4,802 feet, one of the most beautiful vistas on the trail. Mt. Moosilauke is noted to be very slick and would also be my first mountain climb above the treeline. Since Bear and I want to climb the mountain when we have a clear view, we opted to take an unplanned zero day today. The weather is supposed to be nice on Sunday. "Good things come to those who wait", right? |
