I woke up this morning prepared to hike until I peered out the window.  It was storming and the forecast called for at least an inch of rain.  So...Bear and I jointly decided to take another zero day and hike out of Delaware Water Gap on Tuesday.  It's one thing to be hiking in the rain.  It's a totally different scenario to go back to the trail after a town visit, clean and dry, in a thunderstorm.  Neither of us were motivated to do that this morning.

So instead, I had a mani-pedi (hot pink), saw Spiderman II with Bear, purchased some cards at Hallmark, and took advantage of the perfume kiosk by soaking myself in Remember Me cologne.  Since a hiker has to carry one's purchases, I didn't buy a thing.  Instead, I window-shopped.  My pack weight is 35-40 pounds which is too heavy as it is.  I have not been in a mall for at least three months.  The stores that caught my eye were: Dairy Queen, Auntie Ann's, and Bath and Body Works.

Bear and I had pizza for dinner and stopped in a local store called The Village Farmer and Bakery.  We wandered up and down each aisle eyeing every pie, cake, bread, and cookie several times over before making our purchases.  We each got a homemade pie.  Bear got blueberry pie.  I chose apple.  We also each bought an apple streusel for tomorrow's breakfast.

We wandered the aisles once again, wide-eyed and sniffing, before walking back to the hotel.  The smells wafting throughout store were delicious!
