I took a zero today and visited the Appalachian Trail Conference Offices. They took my picture to place in their 2004 scrapbook. I was hiker #370. Bear and I wandered the historic town of Harpers Ferry, WV, which was the starting point of Lewis and Clark's journey west in 1803. Harpers Ferry is rich in Civil War history as well.
Bear treated me to lunch at the Armory Pub and we visited the local outfitter to re-supply. Many of the hikers met visitors from home and it was fun to watch the younger hikers clean up for their parents by getting haircuts. I phoned my dad, Pops, to wish him a Happy Father's Day. I called home and spoke to my husband, a super dad! I love you sweetheart! Happy Father's Day! |
