After consuming the $5.50 Hiker's Special for breakfast which included two huge pancakes, two eggs, four slices of bacon, fried potatoes, two pieces of toast and orange juice, Bear and I hiked out of Duncannon.  I enjoy my necessary town visits, but I am always excited to re-enter the peacefulness and beauty of the woods.

Today, I was hiking alone when I took a nasty fall and gashed my knee.  I saved myself from a face plant on rocks, but the rest of me hit the rocks hard when my foot twisted and I lost my balance.  I just sat and cried and wondered if a snake was nearby.  I also wondered how badly I was hurt and my mind raced with fear of having to leave the trail.  I got up gingerly as blood trickled down my leg.  My knee hurt and my leg was badly bruised, but I was good to go.  Thank God!  I hiked with caution the rest of the day, appreciating the fact that I was not too hurt to hike.  I loved every minute of my hike today and savored being in the natural world.
