The foliage is beginning to show signs of fall. Today, I particularly noticed the colorful arrangement of the leaves on the trees. The orange-red-yellow shades reminded me of Trix cereal. I imagined what Mt. Katahdin will look like when I reach the summit. I hiked to Piazza Rock, which is six tenths of a mile off the A.T. Taking the side trail was worth getting the chance to see Ravens. I climbed Saddleback Mountain an elevation of 4,120 feet which had a spectacular above treeline view. I climbed The Horn which is some 4,040 feet above sea level and Saddleback Junior measured at 3,655 feet high before calling it a day.
Today, I was preoccupied in thought about reuniting with my husband, Bruce, and three children, Christina, Bruce, and Brittany. The remote trail through Maine provides me the opportunity for personal reflection and connectedness with God. Dear God, Please keep my family safe. |
