You have led me again, Lord, in 2009,
To the 3,100 miles of the Continental Divide.
My passion is pure and heightened by nature,
Charity Hiking for Hospice, is my fundraising adventure.
I'm "Walking for Walden," my sister, my friend,
Whose love's etched in rainbows, from beginning to end.
I want to raise thousands for patients in need,
So I'll hike with a message for others to heed.
My relationship with you, God, is guidance and trust.
I'll follow your lead, when I know that I'm lost.
The CDT is one third incomplete,
So the steps that I take now, future hikers will seek.
Please protect my family while I am away,
My husband and children, that I'll long for and pray.
And God, keep me safe, and absent of fear.
Keep the grizzlies from eating me, and remind them You're near.
When the desert floor’s hot, and my body is weary.
Please show me a vista, my mind's eye will hold dearly.
Please show me Your beauty, through desert and snow.
On top of fourteeners, and a red sunset’s glow.
Please help me to grow Lord, and keep my heart full.
I'll mind Your example, if my stomach stays full! (JK God!)
Please help me to listen to nature through You.
When I hear all Your songs, I'll sing along too!
I’m "Walking for Walden," as she sits by Your side.
Her memory lives on still, my footpath of pride!
