I awoke refreshed.  I felt snug inside my tent, but frost had settled on the outside.  Brrrr!  Breaking camp with a chill in the air is not my favorite way to begin my day.  I tend to wean myself slowly out of my bag several times before braving the chilly air. 

As it turned out, my 16.6 mile hike into Mt. Laguna was hot!  Meeting other hikers provided some nice distractions from my aching body.  I hiked with Ed from Seattle who has a great sense of humor and Dave who has an impressively lightweight pack.  The three of us hiked into Mt. Laguna and shopped at the General Store for dinner.  I bought a pastrami sandwich, an apple, a banana, and three Diet Dews.  What a tasty treat!
