A 2,650 mile charity hike...in loving memory.

April 22, 2007

I arranged a bedding of dried fern for my tent which was actually fairly cozy.  As we were inside our tents Ed was reading the guidebook information and we realized we were actually camping in an area that was off limits.  No way was I going to pack up and move at this point.  Today, I climbed up to Fuller's Ridge which was a cold and snowy climb.  It rained which did bring out some beautiful rainbows overlooking the valley.

Eventually, I became chilled and tired and I needed to set up my tent.  I chose a spot on the trail which was not a good choice but my options were limited.  Also, I was cold!  Ed begrudgingly set up his tent as well.  The wind blew ferociously all night long and at one point, my tent frame had blown sideways across my body.  I was warm inside my tent but spent most of the night positioning my body to keep my tent from collapsing.  I slept little and was thrilled to see a gorgeous sunrise from the ridge.
