A 2,650 mile charity hike...in loving memory.

April 30, 2007

Happy 44th birthday to my little sister, CathyI love you.

A bird serenaded me to sleep last night.  The same bird woke me up and followed me all through today's 15.5 mile hike.  Ed and I took a break at Little Bear Springs Trail Camp.  It was here we filled and treated our water and had lunch.  I hiked out with four liters, an additional eight pounds.

My hike was beautiful as I passed a mountain view of Big Bear Lake for the final time.  The temperature was in the 70's and the sky was clear.  I hiked from an elevation of over 7,500 feet down to elevations under 5,400 feet.  It is here at Holcomb Crossing Trail Camp where Ed and I chose to camp.  I am being serenaded by a frog tonight which is a pleasant change from the stalking bird.  Miles to date: 293.1
