I spoke to Troll today and learned that I will be starting my hike with Troll, Oblivious, (father and son team) Rest Stop, and Wilderness Bob. This is great news because there is safety in numbers at the border. As hikers know, every hiker hikes his/her own pace so no, I will not be hiking the CDT in a single file line for 3,100 miles like a baby duck following its mother. Each of us will be our own independent hiker. I imagine that Troll will even allow Oblivious his space and vice versa. We are all wilderness seekers and will make our way northbound by our own individual methods. Troll didn't balk at the number or size of boxes that I shipped to New Mexico. Whew! I really like his easy going attitude. With just a week to go, I am devoting all of my time to my family... particularly to my husband of 28 years, Bruce. Bruce is my trail angel extraordinaire even though he'll be miles away. Without his love and support, my CDT hike would not be possible. Thank you, sweetheart, for loving me for who I am.
