Regrettably, I was forced to set down my trekking poles, backpack, and Yogi's umbrella, to return home to Cincinnati after only a few days on the CDT. I have contacted my sponsors and their responses have all been loving and supportive. I appreciate my sponsors very much and could not have even considered a hike of this magnitude this year without their generosity, support, and friendship, on and off the trail. They, and my family, understand my passion for living in communion with God in the natural world and my passion for charity hiking. My husband, children, parents, siblings, nieces and nephews have given 100% of themselves to allow me the freedom to go after my dream. For that, I love you all very much! So...why won't anyone go near me? I had been in Mexico (a few steps)and just flew home from El Paso where there were 8 confirmed cases of the swine flu. To me they all say, "Welcome back," but we'll see you in a week. LOL! Ironically, tomorrow is the Flying Pig Marathon, where in Cincinnati, pigs really do fly!
